REPORT ON FUNDRAISING RESULTS ON MOMO SUPER APP PLATFORM 2024

Overview of the "Happy School" Project

The "Happy School" project is an initiative by VIGEF and MSD UWV to mobilize resources and bring innovative educational programs, support for facilities, and scholarships to help students access education in disadvantaged schools and for students across all regions of Vietnam.

In 2024, VIGEF, MSD UWV, and the Momo Super App jointly supported 6 Schools in 5 Provinces/Cities and 2,858 students.

1. March - Trung Luong Primary School, Binh Luc District, Ha Nam Province

Trung Luong Primary School has a total of 16 classes and 643 students. With the trend of renovating educational methods, the school lacks equipment such as computers and televisions to apply electronic lessons to learning. At the same time, among the students, many children face difficult circumstances, such as being orphans or having parents suffering from serious illnesses. To address this situation, we raised funds to:

Award 10 scholarships to 10 students facing extremely difficult circumstances.

Provide 7 50-inch televisions for 7 classrooms to serve the teaching and learning needs of teachers and students.

2. April - Boi Cau Primary School, Binh Luc District, Ha Nam Province

Boi Cau Primary School, with nearly 400 students, still faces a shortage of IT teachers and computers for practical lessons. Although the school has flexibly arranged schedules and even borrowed teachers' laptops to support students' learning, the lack of equipment remains a significant challenge, greatly affecting the quality of teaching and learning for both teachers and students.

Based on this situation, we provided support by:

Equipping the school's computer lab with 15–20 computer sets (2 students per computer).

Guiding teachers and students on how to safely use the internet as digital citizens.

3. August - Chi Khe Primary School, Con Cuong District, Nghe An Province

Chi Khe Primary School, located in Con Cuong District – one of the four disadvantaged districts in Nghe An province – currently has 25 classes with 546 students, including the main campus and three satellite campuses. Due to having multiple campuses, resources for maintaining, repairing, and upgrading facilities are very limited. Therefore, we supported:

Educational methods and programs aimed at building a happy and safe learning environment and curriculum for all students.

Facility renovation: replacing purlins with steel boxes, re-roofing the block of 4 classrooms, and repairing the lighting electrical system to ensure safety for teachers and students at the satellite campus.

At the school's satellite campus, five classrooms built over 20 years ago have severely deteriorated. The tiled roofs have many damaged sections over the years, leading to leaks everywhere during every rainy season.

4. October - Son Vi Semi-Boarding Ethnic Minority Primary School, Meo Vac District, Ha Giang Province

Son Vi Semi-Boarding Ethnic Minority Primary School is located in Son Vi commune, a remote border area of Meo Vac district, Ha Giang province, characterized by rugged terrain and harsh weather conditions. With 572 students, 99% of whom are ethnic minorities, the school faces many difficulties in maintaining enrollment due to limited awareness of education.

Facilities are dilapidated, especially the dormitory cafeteria for semi-boarding students, which does not ensure hygiene and food safety, affecting their daily lives and studies.

To improve the students' learning and living conditions at school, we supported by:

Retiling 300m2 of the cafeteria area floor.

Donating 12 sets of dining tables for students to have more seating for their daily meals.

Adding 5 handwashing sinks to the water faucet system to meet students' hygiene needs.

5. November - Nguyen Trai Primary & Secondary School, An Thi District, Hung Yen Province

Nguyen Trai Primary & Secondary School, located in An Thi District, Hung Yen, faces many difficulties regarding facilities, especially technology equipment for teaching. Although there is an IT teacher, the computer lab is severely lacking, with only 7 old computers from before 2010 for 461 primary students. Practical sessions have to be rotated, significantly impacting teaching quality, especially in the context of implementing the 2018 General Education Program.

To overcome these difficulties, we provided support by:

Equipping the school's computer lab with 12 computer sets (2 students per computer).

Guiding teachers and students on how to safely use the internet in the digital age.

6. December - Son Dien I Primary School, Quan Son District, Thanh Hoa Province

Son Dien I Primary School currently has 3 campuses with 236 students, two of which, Xuan Son and Xa Mang, are in particularly disadvantaged villages. The complex terrain makes travel and learning difficult for students. The school has implemented IT classes but faces challenges as there are only 3 old/broken computers at each campus, requiring students to take turns learning. Additionally, the lack of speaker systems and audio equipment also affects outdoor group activities
To support the school and its students, we raised funds to donate:

10–12 computer sets for the computer labs at the Ban Bun and Xa Mang campuses (the number of computers will be equally divided between the two campuses).

3 portable speaker sets for the three campuses to serve outdoor thematic activities.
