The Chế Tạo Ethnic Boarding High School in Yên Bái has 90% (295) boarding students. Currently, there is only one usable restroom facility with 2 stalls for girls and 3 stalls for boys, causing overcrowding during peak times. Moreover, the school does not have shower facilities for primary school students; they have to bathe and wash clothes in small iron sheet sheds with a total area of only 10 square meters.
As of November 26, 2024, the project to renovate restrooms and showers for students at the Chế Tạo Ethnic Boarding Primary and Secondary School in Yên Bái has recorded a total of 76,489,176 VND raised through 3,908 donations from kind-hearted supporters on the GiveNow – Share Love platform. Renovating the restrooms and the clean water system is extremely urgent. A clean and safe learning environment will help students have better study conditions, improve education quality, and protect their health.
With the desire to improve basic hygiene quality at the school, the Vietnam General Education Innovation Support Fund (VIGEF), in collaboration with the social enterprise MSD United Way Vietnam and Viettel Money, is raising a total of 200,000,000 VND through the GiveNow fundraising platform to support three main areas:
Construction of new restroom and shower facilities.
Building septic tanks and waste treatment systems.
Improving the water system, water tanks, electrical system, and restroom equipment.
The project still needs more support from kind-hearted people nationwide to bring children a cleaner and safer learning environment, where their basic needs are met to prepare them for study and growth toward a bright future.
